This year our conference was
held in Nahariya
Our President is a
policewoman, so we had nothing to fear.
The club in Nahariya is now
50 years old
And old time Soroptimist
stories were told.
The younger Nahariya ladies
serenaded us with song
And never once did they sing
a note wrong!
Nearly every club presented
them with a tree
Will we soon be able to sit
in the Sorop forest for free?
Perhaps in twenty years time
when the trees are fully grown
We’ll hold our conferences in
a place we can call our own!
To end the first day we had a
tenor with a voice very strong
And he entertained us the
whole evening long.
Next day a very special and
unusual lecturer was second on our list
She is an extremely talented
and unusual ventriloquist
She now uses her gifts to
help ill children and soldiers wounded in war
Her dolls fully empathize
with them and give any advice asked for.
We all felt that our time at
the conference was well spent
And we are already looking
forward to next year’s event.
