Re: Gil Am Home and Hostel –
Interim Report to Action Fund
Dear Roswitha,
We are sending you this
interim report as required for the grant we received for this project. The total grant for the year 2002 was SF 5000.-, the equivalent of 14,800 Israeli Shekel (IS)
We received this sum in
September 2002 and we shall be using it for approximately 12 months, i.e. until September 2003. We have used the monies for 3 purposes which we had
described in our application.
1. Canteen
Expenses:
We used 5000. IS : The canteen is open every 2 weeks. Two
members of our Clubs participate each time.
During the period Sept. 2002 and February 2003, eleven Canteen Days took
place.
We have introduced some
changes in the way the canteen is now organized. Our volunteers are now more
involved with the GIL AM youngsters in small groups and have more personal
contacts with them. We found out that the youngsters enjoy these meetings.
2. Birthday Parties:
They take place four time a
year. The cost for this period is
2000. IS
During this period we had
two birthday parties.
The next collective birthday
party will take place next week when our volunteer representatives will offer
birthday presents to the youngsters who have prepared an “artistic program” for
the occasion.
We contributed an amount of 500.IS – to make it possible for a significant meeting
between parents, the young delinquents and our volunteers to take place.
The total monies used up until
now from the Action fund is therefore: 7,500 IS
Please note that three of
our SOROP volunteers are also members of the GIL AM Association Board of
Directors and have a significant influence on the current programs of the
Association.
Concerning the future, we
intend to continue our activities for another 6 -7 months in the same manner,
with the same kind of activities and with expenses more or less the same as for
the first period.
As you can see from our
report, the grant we received from the Action Fund is being used for important
goals, to the benefit of GIL AM young delinquents. In helping to realize these
programs we do hope to have a positive influence on these youngsters and we hope
that you will continue to be our partners in this socio-educational project of
our three Haifa Clubs – Haifa,
Haifa-Carmel and Haifa – Neve Shaanan.
Sincerely,
Hava Inbar
Israeli Union President
